Industriegelände,  partially fallow industrial area in the Northern part of the Albertstadt, today used for Disco's and other events. Especially on the mile that insiders still call Street E (officially it is now called Werner-Hartman-Straße ) various clubs are lined up next to each other.

Since 1999 the industrial estate is being gradually reorganized to secure and create jobs on this traditional trading place. The current funding policy is also aligned with this planning goal, which is why the city administration has to view the slow transformation into an alternative cultural location with mixed feelings. At the beginning of 2005, the cultural and economic divisions agreed to “make more use of this pound”.

Anyone interested in building will also find dozens of examples from around 100 years of sometimes sophisticated industrial architecture, including a number of brick buildings.

Particularly noteworthy is the DREWAG North thermal power plant, built in 1918.

Architectural high point of the quarter is new main building of the chamber of trade.

Infineon employs around 3,250 people in Dresden, 80 percent of whom come from the region and 60% work in shifts. This makes Infineon Dresden one of the most important industrial employers in the region.

Infineon spun off its memory products business unit into a new company on May 1, 2006 under the name Qimonda AG. It initially belongs entirely to Infineon, but will later go public.
Dresden will continue to function as the company's leading R&D center in the future.

Qimondan had to file for bankruptcy in 2008 and was "wound up" in the same year, with all of its assets "sold off".
